    What Costs Might I Expect?
You will not be invoiced for your stay at Lisaard and Innisfree Hospice. However, there are some expenses that may arise in relation to the care needs of the individual resident that are paid directly to the third party involved. These may include:
• Medical transport to the hospice from home is paid by cash or credit directly to the transfer service upon pick up. If coming from a hospital they will arrange payment with you.
• There may be charges for any medication that is not covered by the Ontario Drug Benefit or your third party insurance. The physicians will not order these medications unnecessarily and the pharmacy will seek permission if the expense is expected to be over $40.
• It may be necessary to purchase items for the resident to ensure their comfort and daily needs are met such as toiletries, incontinence products, etc. Staff can review what is needed with you prior to purchasing.
• Telephones are available in resident rooms for local calls. You will need to use a cell phone or long distance phone card for long distance calls.
• Particular food and beverage items that we do not have available, such as certain foods for dietary restrictions or favourite treats and pop.
The primary visitor can request an access card so that they do not have to ring the doorbell on a regular basis.
This card (1 per resident) is available
from the nurse and requires a $20 deposit which will be refunded when the card is returned
