 Meet Your Clinical Team
NURSES
The Registered Nurse (RN) and Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) are responsible for the nursing care of our residents and their families. Each nurse functions within the scope of their practice according to the College of Nurses of Ontario.
PERSONAL SUPPORT WORKERS (PSW)
The PSW is a caregiver with hospice palliative care training who assists our residents with their daily personal care needs and supports the resident and family through the dying process.
PHYSICIANS
We have a group of physicians experienced in palliative care who serve our residents in addition to their community practice. The on-call physician covers the hospice for one month at a time and visits the hospice twice a week for rounds.
CLINICAL RESOURCE NURSE (CRN)
The CRN is a registered nurse who works with our staff to ensure that their knowledge and skill is current in the field of hospice palliative care. The Resource Nurses also do the majority of intake for admission to the hospice.
CLINICAL RESOURCE MANAGER (CRM)
The Clinical Resource Manager oversees the resource nurses and coordinates with them throughout the admission process. The Clinical Resource Manager ensures that best practices are maintained throughout our hospice, implements education programs for staff, and coordinates student placements within our hospice.
DIRECTOR OF CARE (DOC)
The DOC is a Registered Nurse experienced in palliative care who is responsible for the quality care of our residents and their families and manages the clinical staff. The DOC oversees programs within the hospice including Social Work, Music Therapy, Spiritual Care and the Legacy Program.
VOLUNTEERS
We have both client support and operational support volunteers. Client support volunteers interact with residents and families. Operational support volunteers complete many valuable tasks that keep our organization going!
