Those who choose to pay for funeral arrangements in advance have a number of choices with regard to how and when they pay and the opportunity to arrange additional protection for their families in special circumstances.
In New Brunswick today we recommend an insurance product as the ideal way to pay for preplanned arrangements. We believe that this is the best option because of the flexibility and protection it offers. While this product is provided by an outside insurance company, our preplanning counsellors are licensed life insurance agents meaning they can fully explain how the policy works and arrange coverage for you on behalf of the insurance company.
With insurance funding you have the choice of making a single full payment or making regular partial payments over a predetermined period of time. Because this is insurance, many people will have full coverage right away even if they choose to pay over several months or years. In other words, if death should occur unexpectedly after only a few payments have been made, the plans you made will be fully paid for by the insurance company.
With the guarantee of full payment you are also eligible for our locked in price guarantee even though you may pay for your plan over time. It is important to understand that the insurance is yours. It is assigned to the funeral home for payment once services are rendered but it belongs to you and can be reassigned should you move or have a change of plans.
In today's world of easy travel and active retirees, the insurance provider also offers the option of special coverage to protect you and your family should a death occur unexpectedly away from home. The necessary care and transport of the deceased can be a significant expense. Our preplanning counsellors can explain how this special policy covers you in such circumstances.
